Frequently Asked Questions

The top 8 answers every Hermes and Evri courier needs to know

Is Hermes the same as Evri?

In the UK, yes: Hermes UK became Evri in March 2022. In October 2025 Evri also took over DHL’s UK parcel business, which now runs as Evri Premium, and DHL holds a minority stake in the Evri Group (Evri).

In Germany, Hermes is still Hermes. Hermes Germany belongs to the Otto Group, which has owned all of it since January 2026. The two companies share a history, but today they are separate businesses with different owners.

How does Hermes deliver parcels in Germany?

Hermes Germany works with about 300 service partners, who deliver 90–95% of its parcels, and it is handing the rest of its own delivery over to them as well (Logistik Heute). Besides its about 5,500 employees, on average more than 10,500 couriers deliver for Hermes.

In 2018 Hermes rolled out NUNAV Courier, a navigation app by Graphmasters that orders stops dynamically, on more than 11,000 couriers’ devices.

How do Evri couriers work?

Evri couriers are self-employed: they deliver in their own vehicles, pay their own tax, fuel and insurance, and are paid monthly. They manage their work in Evri’s Courier Community app (Evri). Evri works with more than 30,000 self-employed couriers and drivers, and in the year to February 2026 the Evri Group delivered more than 1 billion parcels.

Because fuel is your own cost, a shorter route is money in your pocket, not just time saved.

How many parcels does a Hermes or Evri courier deliver a day?

Evri says its average courier delivers about 75 parcels a day and works about 5–6 hours. Hermes doesn’t publish a figure for Germany. Whatever the number, a good stop order means fewer U-turns, less time looking for the next address and an earlier finish.

How much do Hermes and Evri couriers earn?

Evri says its self-employed couriers can earn £15–£18 an hour. In September 2026 Evri and the GMB union agreed a minimum equivalent of £15 an hour (£15.80 in London) for Evri Plus couriers, protected until April 2028 (CEP Research).

In Germany, most Hermes couriers are employed by service partners, and Hermes doesn’t publish their pay. They must earn at least the German minimum wage: €13.90 an hour from January 2026 and €14.60 from January 2027.

Can Google Maps plan a courier round?

Only a short one. Google Maps takes up to 9 stops including the destination, Apple Maps up to 14, and Waze only one stop per destination — and none of them reorder the stops for you: you drag them into order yourself (Apple Support). With 75 parcels or more, that means splitting the round into batches and planning each one by hand. MyWay optimizes the whole round at once and opens each stop in Google Maps, Waze or the nav app you prefer.

Can I plan my round for free?

Yes, for short rounds. MyWay’s free Starter plan optimizes routes of up to 15 stops. A typical Hermes or Evri round is longer, so for a full day the Pro plan optimizes up to 200 stops per route — try it free for 7 days first.

Can Hermes and Evri couriers use MyWay?

Yes. MyWay runs on your own iPhone or Android phone, next to your courier app. Keep scanning and confirming deliveries the way Hermes or Evri asks you to, and let MyWay put the day’s addresses in the fastest order and guide you from stop to stop with the map app you prefer. Whether you’re a self-employed Evri courier or a driver for a Hermes service partner, you can try MyWay absolutely free of charge.
