Short answer: RouteXL is a web-based route optimizer; MyWay is a route planner app for your phone, with a web version and a team product coming. For a solo driver, MyWay Route Planner plans routes of up to 200 stops for $9.99 a month; RouteXL charges €35 a month for 100 stops and €70 for 200. RouteXL’s free plan is bigger — 20 stops against MyWay’s 15 — and its day passes suit occasional use. RouteXL has no team product; MyWay Teams — our dispatch version with live driver tracking — is coming soon. And you feel the difference the moment you open the app: RouteXL’s interface is dated and complex next to MyWay’s modern, simple one.
Key differences
Solo drivers: RouteXL vs MyWay Route Planner
- Price. MyWay Pro costs $9.99 a month for routes of up to 200 stops. RouteXL 100 costs €35 a month and RouteXL 200 €70 a month — roughly seven times as much for the same 200-stop route.
- Occasional use. RouteXL sells single days: €5 for up to 100 stops, €10 for up to 200. If you plan a big route once a month, that can be cheaper.
- The free plan. RouteXL is free for routes of up to 20 stops, with free geocoding that finds fewer addresses. MyWay’s free plan plans up to 15 stops, with no limit on the number of routes and proof of delivery included.
- A real mobile app. MyWay has native apps for iPhone and Android, plus the web. RouteXL’s apps are its website, saved to your phone’s home screen.
- Proof of delivery. MyWay collects photo proof on every plan. RouteXL does not collect proof of delivery.
- Route size. Both plan up to 200 stops per route; on MyWay, 500 stops per route is coming soon.
- The fine print. On RouteXL each account can calculate one route at a time, a fair-use policy applies, and to move from the 100-stop to the 200-stop plan you cancel and wait for the paid period to end — subscriptions can’t be stacked, and refunds are generally not offered.
- Interface. RouteXL is a desktop website from another era: on a phone you work in a page built for a big screen. MyWay is a modern, simple app designed for the phone in your hand.
Teams: RouteXL vs MyWay Teams
- RouteXL has no team product. Its business subscription changes how you pay — €40 or €75 a month on invoice, without VAT — not what the planner does. It can split stops into several rounds for different drivers, but there is no driver app, no dispatch and no tracking.
- MyWay Teams is coming soon — a web dashboard for dispatchers and live driver tracking.
- Until then, MyWay keeps a team simple: every driver uses MyWay Route Planner Pro at $9.99 a month, with proof of delivery in the app.
Features
RouteXL
RouteXL optimizes routes in your browser. You paste a list of addresses — from Excel, Word or an email — and it respects time windows, pickup-before-delivery order and service times. You can share a route, export it as GPX or CSV for a GPS device, or open it in Google Maps. The main difference is that MyWay has proof of delivery, and RouteXL leaves the driving part to other apps.

RouteXL
MyWay Route Planner and MyWay Teams
MyWay Route Planner covers the whole working day of a driver who plans their own route. Add stops by typing, by importing a CSV or Excel file, or by taking a photo of your list. Give each stop the details you need — an apartment number, a colour, a contact to call on arrival — with customizable stop fields. MyWay tries thousands of stop orders to find the fastest one, respects time windows and priorities, and can avoid U-turns or account for the size of your vehicle. Proof of delivery is included on every plan, even the free one.
This is where the difference shows on a real route. MyWay is not just a route optimizer — it is delivery planning software: you plan, drive, close stops and keep proof of every delivery in one app. MyWay Teams, coming soon, adds the dispatcher’s side: a web dashboard and live tracking of every driver.

MyWay Route Planner
Ease of use
RouteXL is a desktop website from another era. On a phone it shrinks to fit the screen, but in our experience it is made for planning at a desk, not for working on the road.
MyWay is built for speed on the road. The important information stays on screen, everything else is one tap away, and adding or closing a stop takes a second. A second here, half a second there: on a route with hundreds of stops, that saves 3–5 minutes every day.

Which one should you choose?
Solo drivers
Choose MyWay Route Planner if you drive the route yourself and want a real phone app, proof of delivery and 200-stop routes for $9.99 a month. And the app is modern and simple to use. More than 600,000 drivers already do.
Choose RouteXL if you plan routes at a computer, export them to a GPS device and only need a big route now and then.
Teams
Neither has a dispatch product today. RouteXL can split stops between drivers, but drivers get no app. MyWay Teams, with dispatch and live tracking, is coming soon; until then, each driver on Route Planner Pro costs $9.99 a month.
